Chomsky's an important thinker of our time, but his skills are first in linguistics and second in political theory. Because he is so popular, I am critical of his thinking. In this book, he presents a solid argument regarding the United States' motivation for creating the world's biggest military. 51640 Mate, I think you make a valid point, but you also need to realise Chomsky has a very valid point. It is the US against world opinion. While globals elections don't quite clear the cloud to see this, if you look at the resentment growing towards the US in allied countries like Australia, UK, etc, there will be an eventual paradigm shift. A vast majority of the world's population are wanting the US to tow itself in line more with the UN as a valid and established democratic body to regulate and moderate regulations.
