Recommended for gr. 4-8. Boys will enjoy this post-apocalyptic survival story with humor. Fisher is revived from a pod as his Ark, with its many pods containing various species, is destroyed around him. With the help of a damaged caretaker robot named Click, and a stray mammoth named Protein, he goes in search of possible other Arks. Along the way he fights mechanical "gadgets" that are determined to kill him, and learns to survive using the fishing skills he has been implanted with. He makes more unlikely friends and enemies as he finally reaches his goal.
