This book is made up of two stories about two main characters; Paul in the first one and Cora in the second. Having read the first story I didn't feel fully satisfied by it but being a person who doesn't give up on a book easily, I pursued and read the second story. This was a much more compelling narrative and the pace was certainly much better than the first story. And it is in the second story that the reader finds out why the book is called The London Train (Paul barely lingered on a train in the first story). It is in the second story that Cora meets Paul and that an affair starts; this has a big impact on Cora's life, even after the affair is over. Still, it all ends happily enough, although I will not spoil this for you. A quite good read.

51.0% "Have read the first of what is a two story book. The first story seems to concentrate more on the relationships between people than the story-although there is of course a story to be told. Interesting read but not gripping. However, I will go on to read the second story."
