really liked it

There's nothing like Spenser to clear the palate. He is what he is--a wise-cracking man of action who shakes up the status quo as he solves the crime. This time he takes on the bad guys solo (Hawk is on a secret mission) after the man he's hired to protect is blown to bits. Sometimes I feel Spenser's relationship with Susan is a little too precious, but all in all it was a good read.
