Amazing non-fiction telling on the lives of Mumbai slum inhabitants. Boo follows several families and experience the unpredictable existence of these poor people. This book was difficult for me to read, and effected my feelings deeply. I was just astonished at how deep the corruption runs and how grateful I need to be for my own imperfect life. There is violence in this story, but I always appreciated how Boo did not make it gratuitous or funny. She is very respectful to these fellow human beings who are scraping by on the edge of civilization.
I learnt a lot from this book, and highly recommend it. One of the best books I have read this year.
