Not sure about the portrayal of world politics and the definitely dubious espionage plotline, but oh my how it stirs the blood for adventure! For once, the "unlikely heroine" here is genuinely unlikely and not a little scatterbrained. A whimsical, flighty, capricious little thing who couldn't type to save her life or hold down a job (though the latter is a catalyst). The young men, as there are bound to be, are all either delightful stereotypes or clever pseudo-stereotypes.
Not to give the game away, the true criminal is brilliant. I was so frustrated and worked up half way through that I resorted to googling out the baddie and received quite a startle. Do Not Follow My Example. The real effect would have been so much more gratifying.
But even with the climax somewhat spoiled, the humour alone is first class and worth reading. Again, Agatha Christie has outdone herself!
