Felt more like an outline of a movie script than a book. I kept waiting for things to develop in an exciting way, me to like the characters and start rooting for them or quite simply to laugh as people said this was a hilarious book. Failed on all fronts. Reminded me a bit of reading a series of blog posts. I did finish the book but was disappointed as I liked the concept of the book. Maybe because I'm actually like Julia in a lot of ways (nitrate-free salami on pizza, throwing out any chemical-filled Halloween candy from my kids' loot while they are asleep, buying primarily organic, etc) I couldn't see the humor?!
