I first read this book a couple of years ago and remember really liking it. In rereading it, however, I have officially crossed the line into love. I love the writing. I love the characters. I love the story. I was so grateful to have my own copy this time around so I could mark it up...the writing is absolutely beautiful. Enger develops the characters so completely, you can't help but become attached. I loved Jeremiah's pure goodness, Davy's confidence, Reuban's honesty, Swede's wit and innocence, and Roxanna's warmth. What a fantastic and diverse family. The story is perfectly paced and the miracles make it sparkle. The plot is not an easy one and you definately feel conflicted with the issues of accountability and loyalty. I love how your perspective and opinions evolve with the story. The ending enduced tears of joy and sadness. I love when a book really affects me.
