really liked it

I first saw this book on my college campus bookstore and it caught my eye since it was a children's book in a college campus store. I had some time before class and so I picked it up and skimmed through it, loved it, and purchased it. The illustrations were very interesting- the author used watercolor and a collage like look and so the pictures seemed 3d. In one of the pages, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is standing behind a podium and you can see his face and hands in watercolor, yet his suit, tie, and watch are paper-cut and so they look lifted and 3d. I really like this effect. Also, there is a page at the end of the book with a girl and the American flag behind her. Just by looking at that page, in that girls fierce eyes, you could interpret the whole meaning of the book. This books is definitely being added to my future classroom library, and I will be reading it for Martin Luther King Jr day!
