it was amazing

There have been moments in my life when something went funny medically and I just didn't have the energy to deal with trying to figure it out. The very real characters in this book have to deal with the craziest, and undiagnosable, thing that keeps happening to the father of an already emotionally stretched family. His disorder/compulsion is so bizarre that at some point, they decide to stop seeing specialists and complementary medicine experts and just try to live with where this unnamable thing leads them. There is relief in the moment you decide to stop searching for the name of what it is that's happening to you and just deal with the "new normal".
