I have been following the "Ghost Hunter" series from the beginning. I usually adore Jayne's work in contemporary and historical romances. I really loved her earlier futuristic work. The Ghost Hunter series had promise, but the stories are getting too repetitive. The cute idea of the dust bunnies introduced in the first story has become a weak joke and annoying. Almost all the lead females have one. All of them dress them up in a "cutesy" manner that makes me think of Paris Hilton and co. with their "toy dogs".

I think my problem is that I have read too many of her books and hold her to a higher standard compared to her most recent work. Burnt out? Maybe. If you are new to Castle's work, you will probably enjoy it as long as you don't get annoyed at the dust bunny additions. Or mind the fact that all the characters read as the same with just different names.

I think from now on I will borrow these from the library instead of buying them right on release dates.
