it was ok
bookshelves: kindle, mystery-fiction, historical-fiction, mystery-series

I borrowed this from the Kindle lending library. I had to force myself to finish it, and basically skimmed the last 25% of the book. The prose was sufficiently rambling that I doubt I missed anything important. I was initially interested in the story and the historical setting, but toward the end, the violence and brutality got to be too much for me. Ugh. I need a brain cleanser.
