it was amazing

This is the sort of literary work to which all authors should aspire. It is not a big story, or an epic one. It is a work of art, from the carefully-selected words to the pace, to the voice of someone you may personally know - or it could be you.

As an author, reading this book made me feel like a lazy hack, clumsily mashing information into my computer. Julian Barnes should be ashamed of himself.

For those that read this book and enjoy it, I recommend Black Swan Green by David Mitchell.
