The Vampire King is the first book in the Kings series, which is a spin off from the much-loved Big Bad Wolf series.

This first instalment sees Roman D’Angelo, a three thousand year old vampire who is also the King off the vampire race, has been dreaming about a beautiful female for weeks and never knew why, until a freak accident in Portland changed his world forever and discovers the identity of his Queen.

Evelynne Grace Farrow, Evie to her friends and family, is a 30 year old indie writer who is passionate about all things paranormal. She has never fit in with the normal lives of her peers and always wished for something magical. When a Warlock who wants to take revenge on the Vampire King endangers her life, Evie soon realises that she should be careful on what she wishes for and that they can come true.

The Vampire King is a brilliant start to a new series and I love how this story has been entwined with some of the much loved characters from the BBW series but have not overpowered the story. HKW has again managed to write a story that instantaneously brings the reader into the fold of the paranormal world she creates, it is easy to get so absorbed in the story that it is difficult to put the book down. With new characters that are going to be a hit with the readers as they are compassionate and honourable, it is evident that there is a lot more to come from the series and if it is anything like this first book, the readers are in for an awesome paranormal ride.
