The idea of the interconnected stories revolving around the same New England farm house was brilliantly executed in this book by Hoffman. While I enjoyed some stories more than others, that is true of any book of this sort. It was great to see who the house belonged to, and to watch the 'children grow up.' At the same time, the evolution of the house itself made it the central character of the book.
