it was ok

I wish I liked this book more than I do. The writing is so wonderful I found myself pulled along, enjoying the ride. It's just that upon examination, I wondered what the ride was really all about. Was Gilbert's journey for healing? spiritual enlightenment? recovery? to find her true self? to discover what she really wanted out of life? Who knows? It just wasn't a relatable journey for me due to the fact that I had already pegged Gilbert as a whiner (how sad to have to give up 2 residences in a divorce with no gratitude shown for having 2 residences in the first place!!) and then as she formulates this travel plan is fortunate to have the year of discovery financed by her publisher! I wonder if Gilbert would have followed through on her own and how the trip would have changed without outside financing. It is still a fun read if you take what she "learned" with a grain of salt!
