Absolutely loved this series. Riordan is such a great writer because he illustrates images in your mind and captivates you immediately. With this series, Riordan creates a complete alternate universe within and above the boundaries of Mount Olympus, the Greek gods, and the United States.

The story is based on the life of Percy Jackson and his adventures as he struggles with his identity as a demi-god. A demi-god is a half mortal, half god being who is the outcome of a human procreating with a Greek god. Percy is the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea. He continuously gets into mishap because of the outside forces attempting to destroy him.
