Powerful and gripping. This book spoke about hard subjects without being too negative. Times were hard for black people during segregation in the south and I think this book did an amazing job of showing that. It was deep and heartfelt and I loved the main characters. They were 3 strong women who rose up above themselves and did something that was never thought of before. Such an inspiration. Though this book is fiction, the situations are realistic and it really makes you think what life was like for a black woman working in a white home.
