Just something missing. I wanted to love this book. It had good qualities. I liked the main characters, but didn't love them. I did love his French accent. I could hear it in my head. No mythology explanation of Obsidian Flame or other such things. Endelle seem a 2 dimensional copy of Bangs' oddball characters. The pretty boys reminded me of JR Ward's bad quys. Again not as extensively developed. There were other reminders of Ward's Black Dagger Botherhood. Did not like Marguerite. The angst of Thorne did not reach any of Ward's, Kenyon's or Feehan's characters turmoil. Will I read another one? Do not know.
