Experience what Rahel and Estha have been through and you'll know how it feels like to be colonized even long after the colonization itself has ended. The tidsy bitsy details of multiculturalism are so well blended here you will find this novel is as resourceful as any good non-fiction books on multiculturalism yet you'll learn about it in the fictional smooth way.

Roy's extra care attention to details is tremendously amazing you'll wonder how she manages to put difficult visual images in to words. Unfortunately, this is her only novel.
