I think I've found a new series for myself, if I can just locate more of the books from a library source. The Alan Gregory series features a protagonist who is a psychologist living in Boulder, Colorado. I realize that Kellerman does a great job of the psychologist novel, but this protagonist is more directly involved in cases, the first-person narration is more casual in tone, and the social setting is somewhat different from the West Coast/celebrity environment. Boulder, however, is certainly not an average middle-class small town. I listened to the audio book, which was read by Dick Hill, whose audio narration always adds to my enjoyment of a book. Now to locate the other books in the series!
