Another great travel book by Theroux.
We find the usual style, strong opinions and ideas of the authors. For a lot of people this is a negative point, I guess instead that this is the basic difference from a normal travelogue. The ideas, the biased opinions and the semi-misanthropic attitude of the author they makes this book difficult-to-forget.
The journey itself is epic (from Boston to the south of Argentina by train) and in some parts really precious (first of all the meeting with Borges in Buenos Aires). A great book, to know more about Latin America, about Theroux and about travels.
Quoting Theroux quoting Stevenson: “I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is...to move.”
