Such a delightful book! This is a regency social comedy about a young girl who must marry well in order to keep 'Crooked Castle' in the family. The castle is falling about around them... literally. The roof is leaking and the chairs are falling apart! Althea lives there with her mother, young brother and two unlikable stepsisters. After losing her suitor due to a slip of the tongue where she let slip that she was marrying him for money she is delighted when Lord Boring comes into the area. He is young and handsome and more importantly - rich. But he comes with baggage. Mr. Frederick his cousin is 'vile' and ill-tempered. Althea immediately sets herself against him, he is rude and she can't leave him alone for five minutes as he has a bad habit of sticking his finger through tapestries and wanting to stick knifes in her precious paintings!

This book had me laughing out loud. It was a pure joy to read.

Chelsea Hey! This book really took me by surprise. I was not sure about it either and was debating whether or not to return it to the library but I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I really enjoyed it! So cute!
