While there was times I thought the story was a little overwrought. That the pace needed to pick up and not be about Ellie and Raphael's lusty gazes, I can't possibly give this anything less than 5 stars.

Intense--amazing--overwhelming--brilliant--frustrating--sensual.

These are just a few words to describe this tale. This story is not for the faint of heart. There is a lot of violence in the story, but the arc of change in Raphael from his Elena was complete and delicious.

I'm onto book 2.

ASIDE: The narrator was rather delicious as well. Differentiating voices and tones, even sarcasm and the cutting dry wit...Justine Eyre was quite simply astounding.
