This is an amazing, beautifully written short book that I'm afraid will be overlooked because it's classified as a Teen or YA book.

It's the story of two women - Sophie, whose mother hides her from the No Good, moving frequently, homeschooling, and not allowing them to have any outside attachments. And then there's Emmy, a young mother who's lost her baby. Baby was taken from her cradle outside when Emmy stepped indoors (just 14 steps) to get a blanket.

The characters are memorable, the story begs to be revealed, the suspense and heartbreak are intense, and the writing is so poetic -I can't wait to read more by Kephart. Thank you Katie Mitchell for recommending (and loaning!) me this book.
