Read from January 23 to 24, 2013

Strong and quite real main characters, for YA.
The world is always on the same two notes those... hunger, hunger, hunger... danger, danger, danger... but in a really basic way. Feels quite unfinished, hollow.
Sometimes, some accidental scene is added by the writer, as if to distract you and possibly to add suspense, but is done very poorly. So instead of wanting to read more and see what happens next, all I felt sometimes is - switching off my reader ...
However, it is a short book, which I think is an advantage for this work.
I want to add that the writer has a talent. She did some cool stuff in this book.
Lets hope the next book will be much stronger and the plot thicker.
If I would compare this YA to many other YA books out there now (2012, beg. 2013) I would say it can easily be given 4 stars ... which is good for this book, but sad for the readers.
I would love to find and read something MUCH better (plot, characters, world and substance).
