Enjoyable, but nothing special. The life and motivations of a 10 year old Irish boy, related in his tone of language, is engaging, but has no plot. It's really just a string of incidents, but because the chronology is a bit random, the context can be lacking from some of them. I felt the characters were a little undeveloped and there were a lot of minor characters to remember. Nice to tick off another Booker prize winning novel, but at the same time to be reminded that winning such a prize is no reflection of the entertainment value of a book.
