Thea is a wild girl who is living with an unconventional family- her mother owns a dance club, and her estranged recovering-alcoholic geek father is nowhere around. When she gets pregnant, she learns to rely on herself and forges new bonds with her family and friends.

This was a perfectly readable and enjoyable novel, but two weeks after reading it I could remember nothing about it except that she ends up making a living making fancy crocheted swimsuits that she sells at a shop for 300 dollars apiece, which gives her the money to live on her own and raise her baby. All the ramifications of being a pregnant teenager, ending up determined to keep the baby, and losing the father of the baby in the process, are well written, and for teens who like everything to come out well, this is a good choice.
