Striking similarities to H.I.V.E! Uniquely brilliant children mysteriously selected to participate in strange tests of their strengths. All are removed from their homes and asked to work on a secretive mission which cannot be revealed to anyone.

Major difference: The Mysterious Benedict Society is interesting and fun to read! The characters are quirky, charming, and unique, instead of cardboard and Saturday morning cartoony. The descriptive language adds to the story seamlessly, instead of causing the reader to think 'oh, here's another long and boring descriptive passage.'
