I was unaware that this book takes place in 1792, in the thick of the French Revolution.

Petra I don't know how many times I've seen the movie but I've never read the book. Must remedy that. It's a terrific older movie.

Alex Very entertaining book, although politically it's kindof uncomfortable; Orczy's take on the French Revolution is blindly monarchist, and there's some pretty terrible anti-Semitism. But as an adventure story, it's first rate.
