This is the story of Sophy, who agrees to marry the Earl of Ravenwood, who she loves, but believes that he will only ever want her because she won't cause him trouble (unlike his first wife), and she will give him a child.

Unfortunately, Sophy has an unreasonable list of demands about her marriage, including that he will not sleep with her for 3 months, and even then she has no wish for a child for a long time. As the story is told, we find that Sophy is a lot of trouble, and manages to keep Julian on his toes attempting to keep her safe.

I don't like Sophy, I found her very silly and selfish, and really just think that she should grow up - the sooner the better!
