While somewhat preachy about the ubiquitous nature of television and the lack of interest in books, we found this to be a quite humorous and sobering story about the wonders of libraries and the importance of reading. We love Patricia Polacco's books and I love any book that praises reading and libraries, so this was sure to be a hit. I'm always telling our girls that "TV melts your brain" and insisting that we keep the boobtube off as much as possible, so this is a great book for helping make my case. We really enjoyed reading this book and will certainly look for more books by Ms. Polacco at our local library.
