** spoiler alert ** I think this is a fascinating story. The illustrations really bring a certain emotion out of the reader, making you feel like you are the little child who built the snowman. Most people have built a snowman before in their lifetime and this brings back memories from childhood. With that being said, the amount of pictures reminds me of a comic book. I never really got into ready comic books, but know that you have to pay close attention to each and every picture to not miss anything. I believe that these books would be a good fit for older children rather than younger children since there is so much going on on each page. I also really like that this book is wordless. This lets the reader interpret things differently than other readers. In essence, this book could be 100 different times, with each reader reading a unique twist on the story.
