The Last Princess (Last Princess, #1)

Review: I really enjoy the Last princess for many reasons.
First it doesn’t fall in most of the young adult post apocalyptic cliché which is very refreshing. Here the main character, who is very strong and kickass is not from the poor oppress part of the population, she is Princess of England….one of the last remaining ‘rich’.
Eliza is the main character, she is very strong and smart. She loses so much and is doing her best to keep her head outside the water, she is a very lovable character and you can’t help but feel for her through her almost impossible journey.
There is a lot of post apocalyptic novels out there but I believe that Galaxy managed to write a book that is still original.
The story starts a little bit slow but it picked up quickly and it flows very well, most of the new characters that are introduced have a purpose and I expect that some of them will play quite an important role in the sequel.
There is everything in this book, action, betrayal drama….There is also a little romance, don’t expect much in this book however, even if the romance is secondary and the romantic scenes are minimal they are still powerful. The little ’love’ you see makes you wait for book two. I smiled, I ached and cried (gosh I cried) in that book….another kudos to Galaxy, the woman can make you ‘feel’
The last princess is a pretty strong start of a series, it set a clear background and it develop the characters and plot just enough to keep you satisfied for the end of the first book and leave you with just enough question for you to expect book two eagerly which for me will be more than a year (sigh).
The secondary characters are well constructed, you get some background on why they are the way they are….you will like liking them or hating them.
In conclusion if you are a fan of post-apocalyptic novels, with strong female protagonists you will really enjoy THE LAST PRINCESS so be ready to hit your Bookstores (or Amazon) on May 15
Stars: 3.5/5
