really liked it
Read from January 31 to February 29, 2012

There were a lot of really big ideas in this one, and I was surprised at how into it I got, especially considering how dense it could get. There's a lot that sets McAuley apart, even from his British contemporaries. He has a way of conveying the loneliness of space I hadn't really seen before. I also enjoyed the whole political aspect to the book. Almost like I was reading non-SF SF. Make sure to read The Quiet War before this one.
