I'm going to start with the easy part, and say how well the narration and the character voices were performed. This is a full cast audio (from what I could tell), and each voice is spot on. The only problem I had was the man who said the dates and chapter names only because it was a bit jarring to be taken out of the narration.

As far as the story goes, it was very well done. Even though this is a Holocaust novel and the families are in hiding, there is much more focus on the characters and ideas rather than action. Ideas of individuals, hatred, being a Jew ethnically vs religiously, and what is necessary for suvival stuck with me after the book was finished.

Two other really nice notes were the epilogue and the author's note both explain what happened vs what was created as well as general facts and the research Dogar did for the book.
