The List blew me away. Consider me impressed. It follows all eight girls without ever feeling confusing. And there's so much to talk about in this book (I think it would make a great adult discussion book): feminism, self-fulfilling prophecies, identity; that I don't see many places. It was hard to read a couple times, but I appreciate that Vivian pulls no punches and tells these girl's stories in their entireties. I don't know if I would classify this as a favorite book as much as an important book about what labels and assumptions can do women of all ages. Ah! Read it!

Mandy I will read this despite my prejudice against people named Siobhan

Christiana You know, that name is kind of growing on me, truthfully!

Mandy It makes me think of elbows and hard angles. The mean 'siobhan' in question was all of those. I think it would be annoying to be named it though, since 90% of people would say it 'Sob-han' instead of 'shhhh-von.'
