I like Tom Glavine, he's a class act and a surefire Hall of Famer. However, he needed to pinpoint this book a tad more. By making it "Baseball for Everybody", he's gone to the basics - certainly with kids and novices in mind - but he shares information with such straightforward dullness that you begin to wonder if there is any personality at all under that cap.

There are more engaging books on how the game is played, to be sure. This one shares a wealth of information, from rules to tips, but what's missing is the sense of joy that one would hope comes from sharing your wisdom about the game you so love.
