I have to list the theme of this book for my YA lit class. And here it is: Life sucks, and then you die.

Seriously.

Loathed this book. I get that it was a good book - well-written, thought-provoking, etc. But it made me feel helpless and hopeless. Also mad.

Perhaps I should have taken the children's lit course instead.

Jess Aw man, is it really that bad? I knew it was depressing and that it ends on a horribly note.

It's the depressingness and the ending that I hated. I like hopefulness in my YA. Don't get me wrong - it was technically good - but man. Depressing.
