First in the ghost and reincarnations trilogy. Cash and Abby’s story jumps right in and grabs you from the beginning. Manipulations and situations that end up making for a great HEA. Abby’s deal with Cash changes rather quickly and by the 29% mark (Kindle speak) of the book I grabbed my pom-pom’s and was jumping up and down doing the happy cheer once Cash and Abby turn the corner in their relationship from a deal to the real deal. (Dislike those stories that make me wait for at least half or more than half of the bk to get to the really good somethin’-somethin ’part of the story). Ok, things are cooking now but clueless Abby takes awhile to convince. She’s had a bit of tragedy going on and wants to hope for good things but still a bit mired in her life’s grief. She’s lost her dearly loved husband Ben 4 years prior among others in her family. She’s not totally clueless though and realizes Cash is hunkalicious magic to hope for. Wild cast of side characters some disembodied. Have to admit I wasn’t a fan of cranky but well meaning Mrs. Truman and she got on my nerves. Cash is the typical KA alpha – bossy, possessive and drool worthy in definite need of love to thaw his heart and Abby is an attractive, fun, classy, financially challenged heroine in need of saving which always works out nicely balanced in that they each save each other in the end. Several teary moments for me especially near the end with the ghosts. The epilogue not being quite as warm for me as per usual KA and the cranky Mrs. Truman, are the only reasons I dropped a ½ star from this review. Worth the read if you’re the devoted KA fan I am. Cash and Abby’s story is one to add to your collection.
