I loved this story! It had a similar feel to books by Megan Whalen Turner. I guessed at a "surprise" element, but it was fun to see if it fit with the story and the things being said by the characters. This part of the story was not what the entire ending was based upon revealing to the reader, so it didn't ruin anything for me.

I think this book would appeal to girls and boys alike.

The audiobook was great. I think it's the same reader that does the Percy Jackson audiobooks.

PS - this took me a month to get through, but mostly because I'm still tying to figure out how to fit audiobooks into life with a new baby, not because the book was slow or boring in any way. Most of the listening of this book happened over the last few days.
