An appreciated change of formula. The author's manipulation of the reader is pretty obvious but it works, capturing the frustration Honor feels as the aristocracy disregard facts for politics.

If this had been just another "Honor faces a bunch of Havenites and outsmarts them" book, I might have given up on the series. As much as I enjoy the space battles, they can only provide so much content. I found it refreshing to switch to a purely character-driven plot for a while.
