Before I started reading this book, I knew the ill fate of the Belgian detective, and it put me in a sour mood. I guess it's because I love the Poirot mysteries so much that I rejected the idea of killing off the "best detective in the world". I felt that he should have lived on in the mind of the reader. Christie's murderer in this book was very intriguing and kept me guessing at who "X" was. The method(s) that "X" uses to have these murders committed was unlike any other method that I have read by Christie so far. It was an interesting, but solemn end to the life of Hercule Poirot.
