This is a really fast-paced read - a bit like The Hunger Games I was drawn in quick and then couldn't put it down (yes 3am finish for me). I loved Cassie's first-person narration, which really draws you into her story and made me experience many of the shocks along with her. I wasn't sure what to expect from this and in trying to guess what was happening was wrong a lot. I found it very original, however, have not read lots of sci-fi to compare. Thought it was a very good YA though.

I will say, it's by an indie author who I know, but I promise, no nepotism! At least I don't think so :)

“Oh! I know what I wanted to tell you – you’ll never guess who Thomas is chasing after now…”

Hmmm, never guess or can’t be bothered to guess – it was a hard call. I yawned again, glancing at the bed, which was inviting me to clamber back inside and pull the sheet over my head. So tempting, but not practical.”
