This book was very funny and a good romantic suspense. The interaction between Jaine and Sam was hilarious. She is a bit of a spit fire and he has a bit of a temper. I love the part where she sprays him with the hose then he hold her against her car. She tells him he is holding her against her will but he says he isn't, he is holding her against her car. The diagolue was great and the suspense portion was good. This is a great read if you enjoy a laugh, good romance and a bit of suspense!

I'm seeing so many great reviews for this I guess I'll have to pick it up. *sigh* What a heavy burden that will be, buying another book.

UM - this is definitely a keeper! I have reread this multiple times (along with about 10 of my other fav LH books).Another of my favorite lines: "The wheel's still turning but her hampster is dead."
Thanks Karla! I have read this about 10 times and was in the mood for a funny read so I am reading this again.Yes, I wish she would write like this again but I have lost hope it will actually happen.

Is this the only one you read? There are many other good older ones!
Good review. You know, I put off reading this book for the longest time, because it just didn't sound like one I'd like. Once I finally read it, it became one of my absolute favorite LH's.

Have you read Open Season? Kill and tell? All the Queens men? After the night?
Just to name few I love.....:)

Some of her books in the last few years haven't been up to par, but her newest, Shadow Woman, I really enjoyed, as well as Running Wild. Any of her older books, like Cry No More are excellent reads. I have a soft spot for Open Season, as she researched the 'small town and library' at our town library and my high school where I teach.
I've been really lucky that our libraries keep up with her books so well, as she's an Alabama author.

I remember really liking this one. I think it was the first LH I read. I should do a re-read. Nice review.

I've had this book on my TBR pile for forever. Your review makes we want to read it now. Great review, Melissa.
I absolutely LOVED the scene with the hose, washing the car. Haha! And Sam so lusts after her car. I loved this couple, period. (But the gruesome murder scenes. Eeeewwwww!)I love (or like) just about everything Linda Howard writes, but my favorite couple is probably Jack and Daisy in Open Season
