It’s taken me a few days for me to collect my thoughts on this book. I enjoyed reading it but once I finished I was left with a feeling that I had missed something.
The Chemistry of Tears intertwines two themes which would never normally go together: The intrigue of reconstructing an automaton and a woman having to grieve in secret. The two stories are set in different times and the reader is switched back and forth between the two. This keeps both stories interesting and fresh.
As much as I enjoyed this book I have to admit there were some parts of the story I just didn’t understand. This left me wondering if I was too dumb or was one of the characters really confusing.

I agree with you on this one Vicky, it was like I went to sleep in a critical part of the story and in the end thought 'what was that all about?".
