bookshelves: disappointing, i-bought-this, kindle
Read from January 29 to 30, 2012

i WANTED to looooooove this, because Elizabeth George is among my VERY favorite authors. But wtf? Thomas is just all over the place, thinking with his...well, let's just say getting it on with your supervisor isn't the kind of behavior we have come to expect from Thomas! But the very fact that we feel we KNOW these characters is revelatory about EG's skill in characterization...So, the plot was all tangled up with some strange people, and it really wasn't one of the ones I loved. I actually wish I hadn't bought this...I hate to say this, but I think the next EG book will find me requesting the book from the library...I'm sort of sad to even say that! I do hope she will be back in form with the next one, waiting for 2 years for it will make me VERY annoyed if it is another disappointment.
