Into the Darkness
by V.C. Andrews
by V.C. Andrews
I'm amazed that I didn't like this book. I have always loved V.C. Andrews. It took everything I had to finish the book and I kept waiting for the moment when the book would take a turn and I would take an interest in the characters or storyline. It was well written and easy to read, which has always been the style of Andrews, but I felt the story line just lacked.

The books seem to be getting worse. If you don't know, V.C. Andrews herself died in 1986 and since then, they've been written by a ghostwriter. The ghostwriter's books seem to be getting worse. :-(

I totally agree. I knew that she had passed, but that she had left behind several outlines for books or rough drafts for some books and then outlines for the series. This book just was terrible. It wasn't ANYTHING like something she would have written. I just kept waiting and waiting for it to get better. Needless to say I won't be reading ANY new books. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!
