An optimistic future med student becomes disillusioned working as a medic in Harlem in the early 90s. The author knows the streets so well, from the skels to the block captains, and captures that hard attitude that comes with dealing with death on a daily basis. The plot, though, is largely non-existent, and what is there is generic and predictable.
