There was a whole lot of back and forth in this, for not a lot of payoff. Yes, in the end Jenni saves two families from disaster, but with all the telling and not a lot of "showing" by the end, I didn't really care that much! I gave this 3 stars because I do believe it will have an audience with 3rd or 4th graders. I didn't like the writing or the story as much as I believe an elementary school girl will.

There are parts about what it means to be a real friend, and those are dealt with very honestly and realistically.
